ugh
So, in case this hasn't already exploded the internet, I was at the Gym Class Heroes show today and Travis got into a huge fight with this guy. This guy was standing right next to Catie Kay (
queenc0bra) and I in the crowd and he started yelling, 'You ignorant NIGGER' (!!!) at Travis.
Travis had earlier been making jokes about ladies putting their hands in the air if they were gonna eb having his baby tonight, and so the guy was also yelling 'you wanna make jokes about getting people pregnant? you ignorant nigger', etc.
So I'm looking between this guy and security like wtf but I think we were sort of in shock that this dude was actually yelling this (I will state here that I think this guy was either biracial or black, he was about Trav's skin tone), and then Travis notices because it's between songs. He says 'excuse me?' and the guy continues to yell and Travis goes, "Did you just call me an ignorant nigger? Get up here."
So the guy jumps the barricade and goes up the stage and Travis reaches down to pull him up on stage, but the guy won't take his hand. I can only assume some more words were exchanged that we couldn't hear because Travis then took his mic and bashed the guy over the head with it, so hard that the top of the mic broke off. He then reached down from the stage, grabbed the guy by the fro, and started beating the shit out of him while the crowd was screaming and the security was freaking out and trying to pull them apart.
The guy was literally, like, chased away from the stage by security and Travis apologized to us, saying that it's not really in his nature to do things like that but when someone calls you something that offensive, you just have to bash them in the head with a fucking microphone.
They kept playing, and playing really fucking well, I might add, which was highly impressive. Trav dedicated 'Cupid's Chokehold' to Katy Perry and came out and climbed on the barricade for it and apologized a few more times during the set, and lastly, he did a call and response with us:
Travis: Where's my family at?
Audience: Right fucking here, Travie!
*sigh* Unfortunately, after they played, there were police on stage and we saw police outside by the gates as we left, so I'm afraid Trav might get arrested on assualt charges, which would be too fucked up to handle.
Send all your love to Travis tonight, guys. He needs it.
ETA: I messaged Dejesus and he says there's nothing to worry about, Travis is fine, and they'll still be performing. Big sigh of relief!
